By the time you receive the June newsletter, we will have kicked off another busy season in Cambrian Heights. We recently restarted our outdoor weekly Tuesday Farmers Market on May 26, celebrated our 5th Annual Cambrian Heights Family Bike Day on May 30, and are now preparing for our Casino fundraiser on June 8–9.
This momentum will continue with our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Hall. We strongly encourage residents to attend, review the past year’s community activities, and share your ideas and feedback with the Board members who will be elected that evening. A social reception will follow the meeting. We have invited our MLA, Lizette Tejada, and Ward 4 Councillor DJ Kelly to provide brief updates after the formal portion of the meeting. This is a great opportunity to have your priorities and concerns heard.
Cambrian Heights will also partner with the Rosemont Community Association to host a Community Cleanup Day on Sunday, June 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Cambrian Heights Community Hall parking lot. Sponsored by the City of Calgary, this annual event offers free yard waste disposal and recycling for all Calgary residents. Event details are available on the City of Calgary website (calgary.ca) and on our community websites (cambrianheightscommunity.com and rosemontyyc.com). As mentioned, our outdoor weekly Farmers Market resumed on May 26 and will run every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the hall parking lot. Now in its third year, the market attracts up to 20 vendors offering fresh and frozen food products, all operating under provincial and City health standards. We expect the market to continue through October 6.
Finally, we would like to remind residents that the Community Hall is available for birthday parties, anniversaries, and other social events. The hall can accommodate up to 150 guests and includes tables, chairs, and a full commercial-grade kitchen. Photos and rental details are available on our website.
